The hours for students participating in periods one through seven will be 7:20 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. B-27 REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF OUT-OF-COUNTY/OUT-OF-STATE TRIPS FOR THE 2003-2004 SCHOOL YEAR RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, approve the attached list of out-of-county/out-of-state trips for the 2003-2004 school year for use in conjunction with School Board Rule 6Gx13-6A-1.22, Field Trips. B-28 REQUEST AUTHORIZATION FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE CONTINUATION OF FULL SERVICE SCHOOLS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 21, 2003 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2004 RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent to: 1. enter into a contractual agreement with Miami-Dade County Health Department to utilize funds appropriated by the state to that agency for the continuation of the Full Service Schools initiative in Miami-Dade County Public Schools effective August 21, 2003 through June 30, 2004; and 2. direct Financial Affairs to establish revenues and appropriations in the amount of $800,000; such appropriations to be reported periodically to the Board. B-32 REPORT - STUDENT VOTER REGISTRATION FOR 2002-2003 RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, receive the 2002-2003 Student Voter Registration Report. B-33 REQUEST TO AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF $176,576 FROM THE MIAMI HEAT TO CONTINUE OPERATING AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM ENTITLED THE HEAT ACADEMYAT PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR, LITTLE RIVER, AND RIVERSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent to accept a donation of $176,576 from The Miami Heat to operate an after-school academic program, The Heat Academy, at Paul Laurence Dunbar, Little River and Riverside elementary schools for 100 students at each site during the 2003-2004 school year.
